All over covered geometric and tribal art, this antique Persian hand knotted over 100 years ago has exceptional artistic merit throughout with phenomenal vegetable dyed wool colors. It's a Serapi, woven in the rugged NW mountains of Persia.
The age, wide and amazing midnight blue borders, design and rich color ways simply make this rug so outstanding and a more sought after rug. Take a good look at all of the detailed pictures, the remarkable floral motifs and work of art that these artisans wove. The naturally dyed wool is exquisite and has aged so beautifully.
You will notice the different batches of the naturally dyed wool in several areas of this piece, which is very telling of its story and how it was woven, with changes of hands and wool at the loom.
This Northwest mountain tribal rug is low pile, with scattered wear. This heirloom is extended at phenomenal value compared to brick and mortar pricing. Please note: This rug has one minor stain, shown in picture, up close with the hand in it. Thank you for choosing Blue Parakeet Rugs!
