This worn to perfection Persian hailing from the village of Mahal boasts over 100 years of history, showcasing a charming character that tells a story of its own.
Featuring an all-over Mahi design, (Mahi translates to "fish" in Farsi), this shabby chic beauty features intricate patterns of fish encircling flower heads in a mesmerizing water garden motif throughout the field. The main border is adorned with stunning geometric flowers, reminiscent of lotus blooms. The wonderful artistry of the rug's all-over design provides flexibility in styling furniture atop it, alleviating concerns about centering furniture pieces according to the rug's design.
We gave this rug some TLC to some areas that had loss of wool, meticulously restoring it to preserve its integrity and to ensure its longevity. While this old gem has been cherished and loved, we recommend placing it in a less traffic-heavy area and caution against homes with clawing cats or hefty playful pit bulls.
