Here she is…a 1920s Persian Mahal, at approximately 8x11, doing what Mahals do best…showing up with presence but keeping it easy to live with. An allover design that just keeps your eye moving…no single moment, just a field full of beautifully abrashed motifs doing their thing. The reds have that softened, settled tone (the outdoor pics read a touch brighter) …paired with those deep midnight blue borders that frame it all in just the right way.
Low, even pile…soft underfoot…with that supple, broken-in handle you want from a piece that’s been around and lived a little. Beautifully brushed vegetable dyed wool, handwoven, giving you that quiet variation and depth across the surface.
Condition is strong…especially for a 1920s Persian. This one’s been cared for and it shows. It’s luxurious without trying too hard…regal without being fussy…just loads of the good stuff packed into one seriously good rug.
