Antique Tribal Runner / 3’3 x 14’ Runner #4561

Regular price $2,700.00

Woven in the early 1900s by nomads in the Caucasus mountains, this old runner carries bold tribal energy with a rich rust field, crisp sky-blue accents, and geometric motifs that carry symbolic meaning.

The border is particularly great because it has a bit of texture to it. Parts are piled while other sections are woven flatter, creating an almost two-dimensional look that gives the design even more personality. It’s those little handmade quirks that remind you that a real person sat at a loom and made this piece over a century ago.

The vegetable dyed wool is still healthy with an even, shorter pile under hand, making it a great candidate for everyday living. It has scattered wear throughout, all consistent with its age, and there’s one very small old patch shown in the photos. It’s secure, blends nicely into the design, and simply becomes part of the rug’s story. The weave remains supple and sturdy and will be fine for use in a higher-traffic hallway, entryway, or kitchen.

If you’re after a runner with good age, great color, and all the old rug magic that only time can create, this one’s an easy choice.
