5x8 Antique Tribal Kazak Rug #4150

Regular price $2,160.00

This early 1900s Kazak brings the kind of tribal punch collectors chase…and in a size that rarely shows up. Finding antique Kazaks around the 5x8 range is a bit of a hunt, which makes this one a satisfying score for the BPR pile. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, the field carries five pole medallions stacked down the center, each framed by ram’s horn motifs, a symbol tied to strength and power. The design lands with serious graphic energy against that deep navy ground, where the colors bounce between warm reds, soft yellow-golds, and cooler blues.

The border has tribal power, too, going with graphic motifs and color shifts that feel lively and a little unpredictable…exactly what makes these rugs woven by mountain weavers so fun to live with. One of the bands carries the classic “fence of security” pattern, traditionally woven as a symbol of protection.

Pile sits low from age and use, but the rug remains strong and in nice condition for a piece that’s well over a century old. Please take a close look at photos for full character and condition. You’ll also notice the bottom edge isn’t perfectly straight…a small and very charming reminder this beauty was woven entirely by hand long ago.
