A bold and graphic Persian Gorevan runner from the first quarter of the 20th century—this one sets itself apart with a striking blue ground, which shows up far less often than the typical red field seen in most Gorevan and Heriz pieces. This is a powerful and bold Gorevan runner with graphic presence and a commanding palette. Gorevan rugs are cousins to Heriz pieces but often with a slightly looser weave and beefier motifs—and this one brings the drama.
The rug features stacked, angular medallions with latch-hook and serrated edge motifs, flanked by stylized rosettes and elemental detailing. The main border dances with a leaf and blossom pattern, bringing a rhythmic contrast to the geometric field.
This runner has low pile throughout and shows minor wool pile loss in some areas (as seen in the photos), but it still has plenty of life to give and will hold up beautifully with everyday use.
