Skinny Distressed and Worn Vintage Runner / 2'8 x 5'1 Runner #4055

Regular price $630.00

Woven in the Caucasus Mountains during the early 1900s, this old Kazak runner comes from a weaving tradition known for fearless geometry, saturated vegetable dyed wool, and rugs built to withstand hard use. And it surely looks like it has lived a thousand lives. Its ultra love worn. This old Kazak is battered, bruised, and wonderfully present, showing off its character, immensely. You'll spot areas of exposed foundation, edge wear and losses. The surface tells its story openly. It truly reflects years of footsteps, movement, and life.

The people who wove these pieces lived in mountain villages scattered between the Black and Caspian Seas, creating textiles that reflected daily life, protection, identity, and generations of inherited design. Four striking geometric medallions were woven into the dusty brick field, framed by deep indigo borders and tribal motifs that still command attention despite decades of wear. The vegetable dyed colors have mellowed beautifully, softening into the kind of palette only time can create.

There is a rugged farmhouse quality here. A collected shabby chic spirit. It has a grounding effect on a room because it carries real history rather than manufactured distressing. It feels authentic because it is authentic.

For those drawn to old textiles with soul, character, and a surface earned through time, this ultra skinny Caucasian runner delivers all of it in spades.

A custom cut rug pad will be sent on the house for this ancient beauty.
