Here’s a heavy-hitter with serious heritage. Woven in the 1920s, this antique Persian Tabriz comes from one of the most celebrated and highly respected weaving centers in rug history. Crafted by skilled hands, it features fine, tight knotting and structured strength, making it a stout, heavy piece that can effortlessly handle a high-traffic entryway, living room, or any busy corner you style it in.
The artwork here is extraordinarily ornate, showcasing a captivating medallion-within-a-medallion design surrounded by intricate spandrels and fluid curvilinear flourishes. Rich main border bands brimming with detailed botanical motifs frame the field against a warm, grounding red backdrop. This is great art, with a fine weave and was a labor intensive rug to make on the loom.
Hand-knotted using well-aged, 100% natural vegetable-dyed wool, this rug displays a fantastic patina and just great time-earned character that only a full century of history can bring. Elegant, classic, and built tough, this Tabriz is ready for its next chapter! She’s floor ready :-)
