Handwoven circa 1920s in the Northwest mountains of Persia, this antique Persian Heriz rug is the definition of a lived-in legend. A brick red ground holds a powerful central medallion, surrounded by tribal art that just keeps unfolding the more you look. Spandrels in that beautiful French blue add extra charm, and the navy border is packed with turtle motifs doing their steady march around the perimeter.
And let’s be real…she has lived. Like really lived. When she first landed with BPR, she was a battered old soul with threadbare zones, worn spots and areas begging for help. So, I called in my repair wizard. Together we gave her the TLC she has needed….reinforced spots, secured areas, and added some tiny patches pulled from another century-old Heriz remnant that generously “donated” its wool. Old helping old…my favorite kind of healing.
Now she’s clean, stabilized and totally floor-ready. Her palette is soft, aged and mellow in the best way with vegetable dyed wool that has settled into a quiet, soulful look that only time can create. If you love rugs that show their chapters and bring honest, old-world charm underfoot…this is her. The video clip attached has more details that are shared. Thanks for shopping small.
