The Vintage Persian Heriz for people who thought they'd never find the right Heriz.
Most of these NW tribal rugs announce themselves in the usual way, with bold brick red, classic indigo…it's expected. This one however, is in another category altogether.
Her ground is sand. Warm, toasty, almost desert-like. A camel-tan that feels simultaneously ancient and completely current. And against it, the palette chosen is just chef's kiss: deep navy that punches hard against the soft ground, sky blue, aqua, sage green, walnut brown, a whisper of ivory…and then a faint blush, all so fabulous. It’s the color story people dream of and designers chase.
The angular tribal geometry is all there too, as we always love about these rugged Persians. It showcases a bold medallion, uncompromising lines, and the edgy drawing that makes Heriz always a powerful piece to choose for the home, office, or the space that needs great art on the floor. And the fact that it's stripped of the usual red — the whole thing reads like a tonal masterpiece.
She's weighted and durable. Low pile, but weighted and stout with some scattered and normal age-old wear. One small patch that disappears once she's down — pic of it is shown so you can see exactly what we mean. She's been living a good long life, this one. 1930s, and still has plenty of party time to go.
