Some rugs blend into the background, but this 1920s antique Northwest Persian Heriz was woven to steal the show. Measuring approximately 9x11, its generous proportions give it a grand presence that easily anchors a living room, spacious dining area, or bedroom. It definitely has presence and power and has a lot of love to give.
Staring into its central field is like looking through a living kaleidoscope, where edgy tribal geometry and saturated plant dyes bloom outward in a powerful medallion flanked with finials and motifs. Handwoven with vegetable dyes, the wool features visually appealing abrash variations that reveal a rich spectrum of colors, like a firebrick red and Tuscan rust ground layered with crisp navy, ice blue, French blue, cornflower, and teal, all brightened by golden camel, honeyed tan, wild salmon, coral, soft pink, ivory, and marbled pistachio.
Styled perhaps beneath a full leather seating group or dark walnut furnishings, it brings deep grounding warmth, while in a neutral modern room it transforms the space by letting those vibrant jewel tones pop like a work of fine art underfoot. Beyond its striking artistry, this piece is in excellent condition, exceptionally heavy, durable, and built for life, featuring a clean low pile that is completely floor-ready and primed to be a phenomenal addition to your home.
