Persian court design, floral happiness and elegance, this circa 1870s Kerman has loads of character for the space it will live in. Europe made these rugs popular starting in the late 19th Century. Kermans have a soft, graceful style that combines elements of classic Persian court carpets with the colors and designs found in French textiles.
The intricate details are beautiful and Kermans are just "happy" rugs. This low pile and tightly woven rug has seen a lot of life, but has loads more to go. At one point in its story, it was a larger rug. It has been reduced and now is more of a square rug! We have given it some TLC, reinforcing its stitches where reduced, and this baby is ready to go. Please see pics for reference. It will give an abundance of love where it will live.
