Woven by Persian Kurds in the first half of the 20th century, this antique runner brings the drama with an amazing technicolor vibe. Its midnight blue ground is packed with outlined paisley shapes all throughout the field, each one detailed and bursting with color. Look closely and you’ll catch layers of design tucked inside each brush-style paisley. The borders feature turtle motifs and rectilinear art against a rust background.
Made entirely of vegetable dyed wool, the colors have mellowed in a way that only time and natural dyes can deliver. The low wool pile gives it a soft, worn-in texture that still holds strong, and the handmade nature shows in the slightly varying width (3'5-3'7), a nice reminder that no machines were involved here, just the weaver’s hands. Overall, it’s in good shape and ready to run a few more miles in style.
