This antique Persian Malayer (circa 1920s) is the real deal…a village woven beauty with an inky navy ground that makes every single motif pop. The wool is so soft to the touch, with that high sheen you only get from quality old wool; it's the good stuff that modern rugs just can’t fake.
Design wise…this beauty is loaded. You’ve got a Harshang (crab design) layout anchoring the field, plus all kinds of playful animal motifs sprinkled throughout like little hidden treasures. Spandrels add a nice softer blue hue with decorative elements that pop. It’s one of those rugs where you keep noticing new details every time you walk by or on it.
Condition? Amazing. Nice even wool pile, clean look, and very floor ready. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, strong village character, and a seriously stunning palette. Basically…a navy rug that isn’t boring for even one second. This is a fine Persian and a great one to collect. Please check out the video below of this beauty in action.
