Small, stout, and ready to serve. This adorable small floral rug has far more presence than its 2’2” x 4’ size might suggest. Woven in the1920s, this Persian Sarouk is a hardworking little rug with the kind of dense, sturdy construction these old Sarouks are loved for. Hand knotted with vegetable-dyed wool, it has a healthy wool pile, a solid weight, and a compact weave that feels substantial underfoot. It's not flimsy or floppy, but rather, a very pretty work horse that can keep up with all the life and abuse you give it, whether at entry or in a mud room.
There is one small repair along the side, shown in the photographs, but the rug remains stout, solid, and sturdy. Nearly a century old and still very much ready for its next assignment.
We will ship it with a pad on the house to keep this little gem nice and snug.
