Look closer and it gets even better…pinwheels scattered across the field, animal elements tucked in, and classic S-hook motifs, as symbols of protection. There’s a quiet strength here that feels intentional and rooted. One of the border bands carries that “fence of security” design…a protective detail woven right in, like a subtle guardrail around the entire composition.
Handwoven with 100% vegetable dyed wool in the 1920s, the palette is warm and earthy. It has timeworn, grounded color that’s settled in beautifully over time. The wool has a soft, broken-in feel with a low pile and scattered wear that reads with lovely character.
