Camel hair Persian rug from the first quarter of the 20th century — a beautifully aged gallery-size piece woven with raw, undyed camel wool that gives it a warm, earthy base. The field is filled with small-scale motifs and pops of navy, ivory, soft baby blue, sage green, and shades of maroon. It’s substantial in weight and presence, and the condition is excellent for its age. You'll also see some beautiful sheen in those close ups as the camel wool has some glow.
This Persian is in good shape, has some scattered wear and there are a few small areas on borders that have undergone expert rug rehab with rewoven or patched areas (see closeups). The edges have been secured for longevity. The palette is rich, the construction is solid, and the size — 4'10 x 10'9 — is ideal for hallways or rooms calling for a long-format vintage masterpiece.
