This is a low pile and rich brick red ground Seraband runner from P E R S I A. Woven circa 1920. It showcases small scale art in the field with amazing and tightly woven wool.
The edge guard features the "fence of security", a sacred element to the weavers for life and protection. Main border showcases an ivory ground. Please note, this is an old handwoven runner and it is not exactly 3'6 all the way across on the width and will have natural contours and some parts are slightly less wide. In good condition for its age.
Handwoven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool.
