On a sedona clay ground, this antique Persian woven by the Kurdish tribe offers a good size of about 5x8, showcasing a full field of paisleys (representing seeds of life) and tree motifs within them. In the corner spandrels, you'll pick up the little chickens woven in, as well as the "pinwheels of life" decorated.
The main border is set on a warm ivory ground featuring continuous centipede elements as well as paisleys. The last guard is a walnut ground. This beauty is from circa 1910 and has superior wool and mellowed, natural dyes. It's character is worn, commensurate with age and history. Woven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool on a wool foundation. Has a lovely, floppy handle and good weight of old world. wool.
