Here’s a beauty with real character. Woven in Agra around 1920, this beauty shows off the incredible skill of Indian artisans who took Persian weaving and made it their own, with color that sings. The people of Agra were absolute pros with natural dyes, and you can see it here: a rust orange ground bursting with an allover Herati (fish) design, ivory borders with ornate motifs that lift the whole piece, and a cyan floral band that quietly steals the show.
Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, it’s got WEIGHT but folds like your favorite blanket. The wool is soft, strong, and still luxuriously limber after more than a century. It’s been lovingly restored in several areas, some old-world wool, some new, but that just adds to its charm and story. There’s a small stain on one border, but honestly? It blends right in with the life this rug has lived. A unique piece with bold color and a surprisingly airy vibe.
