A 24 foot long and super skinny vintage Persian Mahal runner, measuring just 2'7 wide, which is incredibly rare to find. Long, lean, and beautifully weighted…this one lays flat, stays put, and feels substantial underfoot. This piece is one of the longest runners ever acquired for the BPR collection, because they simply just don't exist.
The field is a solid ruby wine ground, open and uninterrupted, which you almost never see on Persian runners. Most are busy or heavily patterned through the center…this one lets the color do all the talking. The borders are finely detailed with classic Mahal motifs in soft navy, teal green, ivory, tan, yellow, brick orange, and coral tones, giving just enough movement without stealing focus from that bold, saturated center.
Handwoven wool with a dense, durable weave and a heavier handle, this runner was made to work hard. Excellent condition for its age, with healthy wool and no drama. From the 1960s vintage, but with a look that reads both classic and very now.
Perfect for stairs, a super long hallway, or any space where you want a strong, grounding line of color that doesn’t overwhelm the room. The narrow width makes it especially special…most runners are wider, so finding one this long and this slim is a real score.
