You may have been searching for just the right piece, because narrow antique runners are incredibly tough to come by. This one has you covered. From the 1920s, this Persian Seraband runner is woven with natural, undyed camel hair and vegetable dyed wool, giving it both earthiness and depth.
The field carries the classic Seraband lattice design, with medallions that seem to float across the camel ground. Its inner border is especially sweet, with alternating dainty heart-like motifs, while the main border shows a series of diamond-shaped cartouches with floral details in red and deep blue. Long and slender, it’s perfect for hallways or passages that need something soulful and storied.
This rug has a low pile with scattered wear from generations of use, and it also carries one small patch (shown in photos), a mark of its age and survival. The sides have been fully secured with hand binding, ensuring strength for continued use. A true old Persian runner that balances durability, art, and rare proportions.
