Long, lean and swimming in FRENCH BLUE!
Measuring 2’4” x 12’, it has that especially hard-to-find width of under three feet, and if you've been on the hunt, you know how hard it is to come by, under 3' wide.
The French blue ground is the star. This color came later in the dyeing process, after the bath had already produced its strongest, deepest indigo blues. As the same dye bath continued to be used, some of that intensity cleared out and the blue gradually weakened, leaving the wool with this softer French blue. It took repeated cycles of dyeing to reach this point, making the color both labor-intensive and much harder to come by. It's not often you'll find a rug with this ground color and it's something to celebrate. This may be the one and only in the collection right now.
A procession of bold geometric medallions travels down the field, alternating in shape and scale. Within the medallions, you'll find stylized fish motifs, angular vines and smaller geometric details. This skinny vintage runner has plenty of personality and pop.
Handwoven in Persia during the 1940s with vegetable dyed wool, it has a low pile and a stout, solid construction. It is in excellent condition, durable enough for a busy household and ready to take on another long stretch of life.
