Calling all narrow spaces! Meet this moody and magnificent navy blue Persian runner; she’s an early 1900s Persian Lilihan and quite a stunner. If you’ve been hunting for that perfect, hard-to-find skinny rug that’s big on personality, you just hit a rug jackpot.
Hand-knotted from vegetable dyed wool, this low pile antique rug features wonderful curvilinear art and a nice overall composition that has a lovely glow in natural light. There’s a lot to love here.
Let’s start with, she‘s dressed in blues, pinks, and peaches, this Persian is divine, and a delicious departure from the rich reds so often found in Persian rugs.
Also, this skinny old runner has a rather more open field where the curvilinear art breathes. There are wonderful floral motifs and the color story intersects with delicious abrash…those dreamy, color variations you can see happening across the runner. It’s so very human, leaving little clues of where the weaver moved from one batch of dyed wool to the next.
And she’s in pretty darn good shape! Roll her out in a hallway or kitchen, and she’ll instantly bring your space to life for years and years. She has a slight nick on one end, otherwise, she is looking pretty excellent.
You’ll enjoy the soft glow of natural dyes and an authentic patina that will keep giving your home a soulful vibe for years to come.
