This is the smallest old rug in the entire collection and possibly the hardest to replace. At just 1 by 2 feet, it’s a rare gem…you almost never see pieces this size, especially not with this kind of character. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, it's plush, durable, and in beautiful condition.
The design is abstract and playful. Ribbon-like swirls and kite-inspired forms float across a creamy ivory field, framed by a grounding soft brown border. The colors pop in saturated tones of cobalt, rust, dark dijon, and garnet, all with a kind of charm that doesn’t try to follow any rules.
It’s a little burst of joy. Use it to ground a beloved object, tuck into a vignette, or hang it like the art it clearly is. It's an absolute little treasure from the 1920s.
