Tribal power, in compact form. Almost all antique Persian Heriz rugs I seem to catch are 8x10 or larger. This is a great find and a sweet little, old treasure. So for those of you who love Heriz and all the angular geometry, this old baby is here and ready for adoption. It features a triple medallion design in its field and a plethora of tribal motifs throughout.
This rug was hand knotted in Northwest Persia, and has some scattered wear, congruent with its century of life and history (please see pics). She's low pile and with nicely aged natural dyes. Heavy duty and durable.
