This early 1900s antique Persian Bakhtiari is an absolute head turner. The main field features a bold, architectural diamond-trellis lattice that are showstoppers, they’re just so pretty. It also has large, stepped diamond compartments that are framed in deep espresso brown and dark walnut, with stylized floral medallion clusters that pop with vibrant energy. The ground color is a clean, warm ivory ground, which allows for the presence and beauty of this piece and the motifs to really shine and elevate our senses. You’ll find a great color story featuring rich camel, deep blush, rose pink, calming sage green, and soft French blue accents in this old Persian.
Woven with 100% vegetable-dyed wool, it catches the light with a gorgeous natural sheen and brings a wonderfully heavy, substantial feel underfoot.
Surrounding the entire field is a wonderful floral chain border set into a dark brown band that gives great composition to this early 20th Century rug.
In good antique condition, it has a lovely and soft wool pile, a heavy body, and lush luster. It combines the essence of a village rug with tribal structure and soft, romantic tones. It’s a piece woven to ground any space with warmth, history, and unmistakable charm.
