Floral sprays across the surface in that classic Lilihan style…graceful, lively, and full of movement. Border frames the rug with nice contrast in a midnight blue and carries a lively band of stylized creatures reaching toward blooming rosettes. Their bodies curl into the scrolling vine, with hooked heads that lean toward the central flowers…almost like guardians circling a garden. It’s a playful bit of village artistry where animal forms and floral life intertwine along the edge of the rug.
Woven in the 1920s in a Persian village, the wool and handle here is great...low pile, soft and with a punch. It has presence and personality and old world wool ready for generations more.
