One of my favorite things about this 1940s Persian Shiraz is how much movement it creates with so little color. Repeating geometric medallions float across a warm oatmeal field, with a rather quiet rhythm and amazing composition. The simple color story makes this one incredibly easy to decorate with while still offering plenty of character.
Shiraz rugs are woven by tribal weavers in southwest Persia and are known for their bold geometric designs, and relaxed, collected feel. This example has all those qualities, but in a softer, more restrained colorway that feels right at home in today’s interiors. Featuring a low-pile wool, this beautiful rug is thoroughly clean and comes with secured edges.
