This Persian runner measures 3’5” x 12’3”, giving it the length to command a hallway while still feeling wonderfully collected and personal. Woven in the 1920s, this runner is from the village of Hamadan.
The field is filled with boteh (what many of us recognize as paisleys) an old Persian motif often associated with growth, life, and renewal. Look closer and you’ll also find peacocks woven into the design, adding another layer of tribal storytelling and a playful reminder of the weaver behind the rug.
Scattered wear moves across the surface, softening parts of the design and giving the rug its beautifully aged character. But worn does not mean worn out. Its construction remains solid, with plenty of strength and more life ahead.
This is the kind of runner that can give a long hallway, entry, or corridor instant warmth and soul. The paisleys create rhythm down the length, while the peacocks make you stop, look again, and discover the story living inside the rug. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool.
