8'8 x 12'3 antique Persian Heriz / Large vintage rug / 9x12 vintage Persian rug ( #1134)

This is a circa 1910 all over pattern, floral-geometric heriz.  It's handwoven with vegetable dyed wool that has aged with immense character; it is amazing art to look at and take in. The ground color is madder red that is calm and flat. The highly stylized borders sit on an intensely dark blue ground and has intricate art with an array of colors and gorgeous turtle medallions throughout. The edge guards of the rug show off an array of floral art.

Within the field of the rug, you have sensational medallions and angular design flanked with exquisite natural dyes popping out such as steel blue, aqua blue, french blue, coral, saffron yellow, pistachio green and more. The dyes are pretty irresistible with abrash all throughout; nothing synthetic here, but old world wool that is coarse from the NW Persian mountain areas. A great piece with a large size to pull a whole space together with style and history.
