This super love worn and shabby chic Persian rug was woven in the southeast, by the Afshar nomads, circa 1880. It has a softened color palette with earthy colors and subdued natural dyes, handwoven with vegetable dyed wool on a wool foundation.
Floral geometric floral design fills the field and the border bags of this antique Persian rug. It has a wonderful floppy handle and will undoubtedly anchor the space with charm and history. The weaving and artistic creativity of this piece and other Afshar rugs were a major part of the daily lives of these village people. Their rugs are quite distinguishable, were always woven on a smaller scale and are considered collectibles by many rug enthusiasts.
Handwoven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool. Worn. Not for a high traffic area. Please see pics for full character and condition. This will ship with a custom cut rug pad on the house to keep it nice and put.
