This antique Persian rug carries its age with honesty and grace. Worn, softened, and beautifully distressed, it wears its history openly…faded and thinned from a hundred years of footsteps, stories, and daily life. This is a rug that has lived.
The Herati design (fish surrounding flower heads) drifts gently across the field, now quieted by time, with simple, grounded color ways that are calm and natural. Soft browns, muted blues, touches of parchment and stone all mingle together through an aged patina that only true age can create. The vegetable dyes have mellowed into something soulful and understated, giving the rug that unmistakable old world ease. The rug by pics illustrate the most worn spots, and this piece can live on, but needs perhaps a quieter space, with less hustle and bustle.
