Looking for something with a little oomph? Look no further. This 1920s Kurdish beauty brings tribal power galore to the table (or, well, the floor). It was handwoven by a skilled Kurdish woman, which means it’s not just a rug, it’s a story.
We’re talking seriously saturated dyes and it’s dressed up with a gorgeous French blue border. Absolutely stunning. And it’s packed with a little fun, pops of electric tang, adding a little surprise element.
There’s some intricate Paisley with vine art, and if you look closely at the spandrels (those corner bits), you’ll see the sweetest budding paisleys. All this is wrapped by a floral chain design. It’s a great mix of tribal geometric and nature mixed in.
Now, let's address the "antique" aspect. This rug has lived! It’s low pile and worn and has a very loved-in feel. Think of it as scattered wear, some areas still have plenty of "meat on the bone" (nice and plush) while others are worn in more, telling the story of how it’s lived over the last century. Don’t let that worn look fool you, though; Kurdish rugs are legendary for being durable and still has life and love to give.
At approximately 4’x7’, it’s a versatile size that can ground a space or act as a striking accent. If you’re looking for a piece with character, history, and unmistakable tribal vibe, this rug is ready to come home with you.
